ElectroBoards
Extensive use of fine pitch SMD technology today makes prototyping difficult since regular breadboarding doesn't support SMDs. ElectroBoards are prototyping boards for SMD and leaded components. ElectroBoards not only solves the issue of connecting fine-pitch components, but keeps the electrical properties of a PCB. This is done by having a groundplane embedded into each board. This ground plane is connected to a metallized edge that can be soldered edge-to-edge with other ElectroBoards. This forms a system-wide ground plane and offers speedy connections to ground, low impedance ground points and overall excellent electrical characteristics.
All ElectroBoards have a standard size (42mil) hole for each pin on a 1/10" grid making them compatible with standard breadboards, headers and connectors. They can easily be mounted on top of a breadboard.
ElectroBoards are compatible with most SMDs, connectors, breadboards and leaded components.
Key Features
Board Features
- Support for a wide range of SMD components from 2 to 128-pins
- Support for mixed SMD and leaded component prototypes
- Embedded ground plane on each board
- Metallized edges allow edge-to-edge soldering for prototypes without backplane
- Edge-to-edge soldering forms system wide ground plane for excellent electrical properties
- All part pins are connected to holes on a 1/10" grid (standard header compatible)
- All part pins are connected to 2 small holes for wiring
- Clear marked pin numbers makes finding the right pin easy
- On-board pads for discrete components (for decoupling etc)
- Gold plated surface for long shelf life
System Features
- Pre-stripped wires in various lengths available for quick prototype building
- Use of solder paste and clear instructions allows soldering of fine pitch parts without special tools
- With the embedded ground plane low impedance ground points are always close by
- Embedded ground plane improves HF and DC electrical performance of prototype dramatically
- Pin number markings reduces chances of connection errors and makes convenient probing points
